Motorcycle Rider Flown to Hospital by Mercy Air After Accident in Big Bear

At 7:58 p.m. on Friday night, a call went into 911 dispatchers reporting a vehicle versus motorcycle accident in the 41200 block of Big Bear Boulevard in the city of Big Bear Lake.

The motorcycle and a mercedes van both ended up on eastbound lanes of Big Bear Blvd. San Bernardino County Sheriff along with medics from Big Bear Lake Station 281 arrived on scene shortly after 8:00 pm. The driver of the motorcycle sustained major injuries and was flown out by Mercy Air 285 from Big Bear Airport to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation at this time. No other injuries were reported at the scene. The extent of the motorcycle rider’s injuries are unknown.

  2. This 26 year old young man died Sunday after being kept on life support so his parents, grandmother and sister could say goodbye. He was not wearing a helmet and had extensive head trauma.
