Early Morning House Fire in Crestline

From a San Bernardino County Fire press release:

At 7:00 am this morning, San Bernardino County Fire responded to a report of a possible structure fire near the intersection of San Moritz Drive and Lake Drive in the community of Crestline. While enroute, numerous 911 calls began to confirm a house fire in the area.

Medic Engine 25 arrived to find a two-story, single family residence well-involved with fire with spread to the ornamental vegetation on the property. Due to the degree of fire involvement, firefighter’s priorities were to confirm that the residence was unoccupied and prevent spread to nearby structures.

With additional engine companies arriving on scene, crews were able to establish an exposure group, knock down the bulk of the fire and transition to the interior of the structure. The home was confirmed to be unoccupied, and the fire was declared under control approximately 40 minutes after the arrival of the first unit.

Four engines, a medic ambulance, and one chief officer from #SBCoFD were assigned to the incident. #CalFire provided automatic aid with three engines due to the threat to the vegetation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation through County Fire’s Office of the Fire Marshal. Damage estimates are still being compiled, however approximately 50% of the structure was affected by the fire.
