Weather Report – 5/23/19

TODAY’S WEATHER DISCUSSION AND FORECAST:

Good Morning.
Fog and clouds continue to cover the region. Today we will be on the outer bands of clouds from an area of Low pressure that is centered over Nevada this morning. There will be a chance for more rain showers and snow flurries at the higher elevations above the 6000′ level from a couple waves that will be passing over SoCal for most of the day. Rainfall/Snowfall amounts are not expected to be significant. For Running Springs, Green Valley Lake, and Big Bear, under 1″ of snow accumulations is likely. Rainfall amounts for the rest of the area should be under .25″. Temperatures will remain cool today with Highs in the low to mid 40s below 5000′ and from the low to mid 30s above 6000′. The best chance for showers will be from noon to 6pm today.
..Friday will be a clearing out day weather wise as the area of Low pressure will move Northeast and out of the area. That will be replaced by warmer weather locally and mostly clear skies through Saturday afternoon as we will be under a weak Ridge of High pressure.
..Sunday we will have another chance for showers locally as another weak system arrives. This storm will be weak and should not produce much rainfall for the local area. As it looks this morning, Sunday’s storm should be clearing out by late Sunday night, leaving Monday with decent weather for the Holiday.
..After that, it looks like High pressure will build into the region with mostly clear skies and a warming trend through all of next week. Finally!
..On the main page of the website, www.lakegregoryweather.com I have added two live webcam views, one of Lake Gregory pointing North, and the other facing Southeast toward Waterman canyon. These are very helpful for the drive up and down the hill. If the camera view is gray, that means it’s foggy.
..That’s it for today. Thank you for joining me @ lakegregoryweather.com
..Be sure to check out the other pages on the website for live webcams from around the area, live Radar, Satellite loops, Traffic conditions, along with live Weather conditions, and a live view of Lake Gregory from my weather station at the South side of the lake. Have a good Day! *RC
