At 6:01 pm on Friday, emergency crews were dispatched to a traffic accident with unknown injuries reported on State Route 18 at Daley Canyon. The California Highway Patrol arrived on scene to find a white full-size van and a black Mini Cooper with moderate damage partially blocking both the SR18 and Daley Canyon. Both drivers, who were the only occupants, were out of their vehicles and appeared uninjured.

According to a statement made by one driver, the van was traveling eastbound on SR18 and was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Daley Canyon. The Mini Cooper was traveling westbound on SR18. As the two vehicles approached the intersection, they hit head-on. Several vehicles stopped to see if either driver required assistance.

Two tow trucks responded to the incident to clear the wreckage. The road was blocked temporarily to remove the vehicles. CHP is investigating to determine the cause.
