RIM Blue Star Moms
“They Will Never Feel Forgotten”

Donna Schroer’s Sailor’s name is Brendan Schroer. Brendan has lived on the mountain from the time he was 4 1/2 years old till 21 when he enlisted in the United States Navy.

Brendan graduated from Rim High School in 2012 and enlisted in the Navy in 2016. He’s a Petty Officer 1st Class, currently stationed at Norfolk, Virginia and serves as a Yeoman.

Brendan has really loved traveling while in the service. He is stationed on a missile destroyer and recently got back from an 8-month deployment. He has been able to see some amazing countries and experience different cultures.

Brenden says, the hardest part for him about serving is being away from his family. His family does not get to see him very often – only a couple of times a year.

But Donna says that she feels incredibly proud to be a Blue Star Mom. “I’ve always supported our troops and men and women who serve. To be a part of such a wonderful organization, with such amazing and loving moms, helps so much to celebrate the victories, as well as having the support when it comes to the tough times, such as deployments and just missing your soldier. I love these ladies and couldn’t have gotten through any of this without their love, strength, and support. I couldn’t be more proud.”

To see her son grown up and mature, and take what he’s doing very seriously, is what makes her the proudest. Donna says that Brendan loves his country and is so proud and grateful to be a United States Navy sailor.
