Weather Report – 4/9/19

Good Morning.
An upper level Trough of Low pressure will pass over SoCal today, as the center of the Low moves into the Great Basin. This will draw cooler air over the area with increasing clouds and possibly some Ridge fog by late this afternoon. The chance for a shower is minimal for our area. Daytime temperatures today will drop as much as 10-15* from yesterday’s daytime highs.

This trend in cooler temperatures will continue through Friday. There will be gusty winds today from the West then turning to the North for Tomorrow as the Low in the Great Basin moves East and is replaced by Higher pressure there. The pressure gradient for tomorrow will be around 6-8mbs from Tonopah to San Diego with the higher pressure in the Great Basin, therefore creating an offshore flow locally. Cold air advection from the Great Basin will filter into the area keeping temperatures on the cool side locally through Friday

Thursday and Friday, another area of Low pressure will move over the area. This will bring more clouds, Fog and gusty winds to the area. There will be a slight chance for a shower overnight Thursday from this system, but the chances for rain are looking pretty slim as of this morning.

For the weekend, High pressure will again move over SoCal bringing in a warming trend that should make for a nice weekend for all of the mountain areas.
