Exciting news for locals and tourists alike! The Bear Mountain and Snow Summit Ski Resorts intend to have their 2018 season opening as soon as the 16rd of November! Snow making has commenced. Investments in new snow-blowing equipment allows the resorts to drastically improve their man-made snow making capabilities, weather permitting. In order to do so, they use tons of gallons in water that will transform into snow with the use of the blowers. Combining these improvements with an anticipated good winter, while on El Nino watch, will make for an excellent skiing and snowboarding season, extending into the early months of 2019. We are all looking forward to what mother nature has in store!
Welcoming tourists for the winter ski season will greatly improve mountain business, in the way of attracting more visitors and customers to be served, plus more seasonal jobs in order to serve those customers.
