Motorhome Fire Breaks Out at Fox Farm Storage

At 11:47 AM on October 12th 2019 multiple calls went into 911 reporting a motor home that caught fire and spread to adjacent motor-homes at Fox Farm Storage in Big Bear Lake. Reports of explosions being heard in near by neighborhoods. A multi agency response was requested. Medic truck 283 arrived on scene to a fully engulfed motor home with others catching fire and fully engulfed as well. Cal fire, County Fire, US Forest Service along with Big Bear Fire Department attacked this aggressive fire from all sides. Fire Department was able to knock down the fires quickly with no further spread to near by businesses. With propane tanks exploding, Gas Igniting and contents catching fire smoke was scene from most of the Big Bear Valley. The male occupant of the Motor home that caught fire was air lifted to a near by Trauma Center with Burns. His dog that was with him at the time of the incident was UN injured and picked up by a friend. San Bernardino Sheriff and California Highway Patrol was on scene controlling the incident and flow of traffic. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and we will provide more details if they become available.
