Vehicle Fire Guts Work Truck in Big Bear

At 11:08 am on March 4th, 2019, multiple calls went into 911 dispatch reporting a Ford F550 work truck burning on the corner of North Shore and Paradise Way in Big Bear City.

Big Bear Fire authority from Station 283 arrived on scene to find a white work truck fully engulfed. Two occupants from the vehicle told fire officials that something was smoking in the back seat so they pulled over and got out of vehicle and recoved most of its contents. The fire reportedly spread after that.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown. Fire officials believe that the cause appears to be an electrical short. No injuries were reported. California Highway Patrol and Big Bear Sheriff had the road blocked for a short period while the fire was extinguished. Big Bear Tow arrived on scene to recover vehicle.
