On Wednesday February 6th, a solo vehicle accident occurred on Highway 18 above Red Rock Wall.

A white Ford E350 van, for unknown reasons, overturned on Highway 18 landing on its side after crossing the oncoming traffic lane. The van was traveling upbound towards Rimforest just after 1:34 pm. According to CHP transcripts of the original 911 call, the driver adamantly stated that his van was flipped over by aliens.

Additionally noted in the CHP transcripts, the male driver became confrontational with bystanders and officers, then stated that he did not want law enforcement on scene and demanded a tow truck.

The van laying on it’s side was not a traffic hazard as it was out of the roadway and not blocking traffic lanes. Three California Highway Patrol units were on scene. The man was not transported for his injuries and his claims of “alien intervention” during the traffic accident are under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Giorgio A. Tsoukalos was not available for a comment.

  1. My insurance agent said she got a claim once where the driver said, “the tree jumped out in front of me.”

  2. I know it sounds crazy but while I lived in BBL, I drove on hwy 18 myself and felt like I wasn’t alone in that area. After I never shared that story.

  3. ‘Aliens’ is not a thing… so reporting on it, using that word is not doing your job.

I would like to hear what the man actually had to say, and not your story about how you regard a man telling a story. This article is more about you, your desires to please the fake skeptic crowd, and with a picture of a van on its side. I am not interested in you, nor your views on the universe.

Please rewrite this piece in a professional and informative manner. Then offer up your insights as well, but make it clear that they are your additions to the topic. It does not mean that I believe the man, but I would at least like him to speak to the public and hear what he actually has to say.

This should have been in a Freshman year journalism class… did you miss that?

  6. Isn’t this driver an active current Ufologist on History Channel and seen on Ancient Aliens videos?? If it is that would add a lot of credibility to this case!

  7. This story was picked up by CoasttoCoastam, but they published a completely different car!

  8. I would like to hear more about the incident. I would like to hear why he thinks ETs were responsible for his vehicle flipping. Did they swoop in front of him with their spaceship, or was he so intent on watching a UFO in the sky that his driving suffered as a result, was an ET or two standing in the road, or was there a spaceship parked on the road? Some details here would be great to understand what happened. I am presuming this man is not crazy and would like to find out why he says ETs were involved in the accident. Something made him believe that this accident was the result of something outside of himself. Since it would be easier on him to claim any number of things caused this accident, inattentive driving, another car driving erratically, slippery roads, mechanical problems it lends some credibility to his perception of the facts of the accident. As for becoming belligerent with authorities and bystanders how would you react if you told the truth about what you perceived as a precipitating factor in a crash was met with derisive looks and outright signs of disbelief?

  9. My son witnessed this accident and all his friends when coming back from a trip in a bus that was behind the van when the kids and teachers saw the van speeding in an icy area of the road and he flipped it! They called 912 oncee they saw the accident!! There was no alien activity!!

  10. Did anyone contact MUFON and have someone come out and test the vehicle for radiation or magnetic anomalies? That would pretty quickly prove or disprove his claims.

  11. I beleave this mans stament . A lady in a SUV . And mysalf. Pulled off the . And saw a large UFO hovering over the orange trees. For a bout one to two min. It had light blue tent to it. Then it darted over the hill towards Highland . 1993

  12. It does not seem like a bad accident, there are snow and rain conditions.
Bet it was a hydroplane slide resulting in a tip over, not a roll over.

If the van spun this could account for his belief that an extra ordinary force did it.
Dizzy and confused! OR IT WAS SWAMP GAS and a High Altitude Balloon.
